When should you use dummy text?
Use dummy text when the layout is being designed before the content has been approved. It is helpful for wireframes, website templates, printable designs and early product screens.
- Use it early: placeholder text is useful while testing structure and spacing.
- Replace it before launch: never publish a live page with lorem ipsum left inside the design.
- Check real copy later: final content may be shorter, longer or more uneven than placeholder copy.
